Individual Restaurants is required, under UK immigration law, to check all our team members have the right to work in the UK. These checks must be carried out for all potential team members, regardless of their natonality or if they have previously worked for the company (rehire).
To ensure prospective team members have the right to work in the UK, we must complete a right to work, meaning we must check specific documents.
We must also complete follow-up checks on team members who have temporary permission to work in the UK.
Risk to business;
Fines of up to £20,000 per illegal worker can be imposed if we found to be employing them illegally
Prison sentences (in extreme cases) – up to 5 years, plus unlimited fine can be imposed against the business and recruiting manager
Business published/visited by Immigration Enforcement and reputational brand damage
